Southern California burger chain Slater's 50/50 (probably) isn't rooting for the end of the world this Dec. 21, but the restaurant still wants to unleash an epic disaster on your heart and arteries with their new "Armageddon Burger."
"In honor of the Mayan day of doom," as Zagat puts it, the burger is a 1/3-pound meatloaf slice made with 50 percent beef and a 50 percent blend of bacon and pancetta. Then that's wrapped in actual bacon slices and stacked with thinly-sliced prosciutto. There's some lettuce and other condiments in the beast, but they're hardly worth mentioning. All we can see is stacks on stacks on stacks of porky goodness.
The burger goes on sale in December, but it's not your only choice if you want to wreak havoc on your body. Slater's 50/50 has also served a peanut butter and jelly burger (you have the option of adding ice cream), a glazed donut burger, and a fried chicken and pancakes sandwich.
Don't forget the B'B'B' Bacon Burger, which comes with a 50 percent beef, 50 percent bacon patty, bacon strips and a bacon pretzel bun.
