By Caroline Graham

He's used to screaming fans but these latest pictures of Stephen Gately might just send them over the edge.

They show the Boyzone singer with waxy, pale skin, dead eyes and a bloody slashed throat.

But fans fear not. He hasn't taken drastic action because he heard Louis Walsh was coming round to tea.

The shots were taken after he was made up for his role in the forthcoming horror movie Credo.

The film, set in London, is about a group of students who break into an abandoned halls of residence, but soon realise they are not alone.

This is not Stephen's first time on the big screen.

The 33-year-old had a small role in the 1991 Irish classic The Commitments, a couple of years before he joined Boyzone - the boy band that made him a household name.

And it's not the first time he's looked scary either.

He won great acclaim for his role as the evil Child Catcher in the West End stage version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Who would have thought the charming, baby-faced singer had it in him?

Not that he looks so fresh faced in these snaps.
