People occasionally ask me if I recommend diet shakes, or meal replacements. I don't, actually, because I think it's better to just go ahead and eat! Just eat the right amount for you. If you add it up in terms of calories, a diet shake could equal a small bowl of cereal with milk and fruit and a piece of toast. Or a lunch of salad and a sandwich. Eat the food, you'll be far more satisfied. Yes, they say in advertising that they've been fortified with vitamins and minerals! Big deal! Just take a multi-vitamin tablet every day. And what about the fiber in fruits and vegetables? They're missing in the drinks – and we need them.
