Suffering a job loss and being unemployed can be very stressful, physically and emotionally. So, it is very important during this time to pay special attention to your health and well-being. If you can remain calm and balanced, it will be easier for you to stay focused, positive and receptive to manifesting that perfect new job.
One of the easiest ways to reduce stress and achieve a sense of calm and balance is to meditate daily. In fact, meditation is now scientifically proven to be one of the most effective ways to manage stress and improve your health and well-being. When you're looking for a job you need to be at your best, so practice this simple meditation daily.
Ocean Meditation
I love the ocean. It's the place that I always return to for spiritual nourishment and to restore my sense of well-being. Unfortunately, I can't always get to the ocean when I need to rejuvenate so I created this meditation to bring the ocean to me. It works quite well...I hope it helps you, too.
To begin, find a quiet place to sit comfortably where you will not be interrupted for at least ten minutes. Close your eyes and visualize yourself sitting on the sand, facing the ocean on a warm summer day. You are the only one on the entire beach. Feel the sun against your skin, taste the salt in the air, see the waves crashing in and out before you. Once you have created this image firmly in your mind, begin to take deep breaths in and out with the rhythm of the waves.
Breathe in as each wave comes to shore. Breathe out as each wave returns to the ocean. Hold each inward breath to the count of six and then exhale fully to the count of six. Keep your eyes closed the entire time and continue to hold the vision of yourself sitting on the beach in your mind's eye. Once you have established this breathing pattern, imagine that your own breath is the sound of the ocean waves moving in and out to and from the shore. Now with each breath you take and each wave that comes in, feel yourself breathing in positive healing energy. With each exhale, feel yourself releasing any negative energy you may be holding into the vastness of the ocean where it simply disappears.
Do this meditation daily for at least ten minutes or whenever you feel your stress level increasing. It'll make a difference!
