When it comes to understanding the true, metaphysical origins of terrorism, war, genocide and evil, it is too late to grasp the root cause after the blood has been spilled.  We can never prevent abominable chaos from occurring in the first place by addressing the terror after it has already happened.

When catastrophe strikes, the sentence and decree of judgment has already been executed and now the entire tragedy with all of its implications lies in the domain of first responders, police, governments, hospitals, undertakers, the media, therapists, doctors, prescription meds and tranquilizers all of which are designed to help us cope with -- but not cure -- the pain and unspeakable suffering that has afflicted our world and our lives.

This particular domain of coping with horrific tragedy lies outside the scope of spiritual doctrine. Thankfully, there are plenty of caring and sharing people who come to the aid of others to help them through trauma and unspeakable suffering.

It's interesting to note that the course of human development and texuralized, codified spiritual movements took great evolutionary progress  some 4000 years ago. Most spiritual paths have always addressed the root cause of any problem for the sole purpose of preventing it from happening to begin with the intent of curing. Not coping.

But the cure hurts.

And because it hurts so much, the organized religious establishment, to a large degree, throughout history, feared the promotion of advanced literacy and social progress.

THE STRUCTURE OF REALITY
There are two levels of reality:

Cause and Effect.

The so called "metaphysical" reality and physical reality.

The realm of pure consciousness and the world of matter and mechanics.

What ever happens in our physical world is always an effect and never the cause. The cause lies in the domain of human consciousness. Consciousness creates our reality.

This is how it works:

The human body is made up of both realities, the Cause and the Effect.

Consciousness (not intellect), or soul, is the major cause level.

The intellect, governed by the ego and the desires of the human body is the minor cause level, the realm of effect.

A human being's free will is to either listen to the urges of the body and ego, or to seek change and allow the will of our soul to shine through. This is a difficult task by design as the ego has been given full control over our true consciousness and it hides it, like a blackout curtain, so that only the ego is heard in our mind.

The ego has full control over the microphone, impelling us all day long with self-centered desires and bombarding every moment with self-centered thoughts, fears, jealousy, insecurity, anger and rage.

Unleashing the power of our soul is what life on earth is all about. Struggling to silence the ego and find our true consciousness is the very meaning of life. But our ego conceals this truth as well.

The world is set up the exact same way. Humanity is one unified body and soul.

The soul of humanity has but one single lofty purpose. Getting rid of the ego consciousness. Unleash the beauty of the soul. Give instead of take. share instead of receive. Impart instead of horde. Let go instead of hanging on. Be accountable, not a victim.

When individual people allow their own ego to rule over their soul, this is mirrored in the world. This is mirrored in our politics as well. It's why some nations seek to rule over other nations. Some religions seek to destabilize or eradicate other religious faiths. When our ego abuses our soul, then the manifestation of ego on these levels brings abuse to the rest of humankind.

When we allow our ego to damage our soul; then national, cultural and religious ideology will damage our world.

When religious ideology allows for selfishness, and the blind sightedness of ego to control it, then the only result is for the desire of destruction. Why is this? It's the need to control the other.

When the selfish intent of our ego manifests doctrinally, then negative militant, radicals seek to rule over the relatively peaceful majority.

So the worst of the worst wind up making all the headlines and bring darkness into our midst. Let's be clear about this: if ego manifests and manipulates itself under the guise of a religious organization, legal and political establishments are under the rule of the darkness; it's our fault. Everyone is at fault. Not just "their" fault.

This is a harsh truth.

So what can explain why many true inspirational spiritual leaders are also despised?

When a great terrorist act occurs, as far back as 2000 years ago, when Jerusalem was turned into bones and blood and the second temple was crushed, the spiritual council of Judaism, at that time laid the blame, not on the Romans, but on the Jews. The Romans were the effect. The current Dalai Lama said the same when the Chinese invaded Tibet and sacked Potola Palace in Lahsa; that human behavior and self-interest and egocentric envy and intolerance was the cause.

Let's put it into simpler terms.

Most great traditions say that our collective soul is actually the heart of the body of humanity. The fabrications of the mind are like the various organs of the body. When the heart fails to furnish the body with blood flow, there is a heart attack or stroke or gangrene. This is the cause of terrorism. Period.

Terrorism is a spiritual heart attack or stroke. Hatred and terrorist cells are gangrene and disease caused by blockages in the spiritual arteries by the bad fats, which is the ego. The ego is the fat that clogs our spiritual arteries causing disease.

There is a lack of Light-Flow (Spiritual blood-flow) because the heart, isn't not transforming and we humans aren't performing our role as spiritual beings, light givers to all the nations of the world.

This is caused by the lack of conscious insight in the most organized religions to reveal the soul. For example, if one takes the Bible literally, without understanding the metaphoric implications as a way to establish moral codes, then he is in the domain of the 1% body, the domain of ego and this is the lowest level of consciousness possible.

Consciousness of the soul means we question and probe beneath the literal scriptural texts and find sublime spiritual truths and insights that will unify all of mankind and bring forth genuine, metaphysical Light that will banish the darkness that dwells in the human heart. Only then will the purpose of the scriptural texts be revealed, which is to wage war on one's own ego, not on one's external enemy.

However, it takes work. If paradise and a peaceful planet were given to us as though it were a free lunch, we would be nothing but automatons, charity-cases, the recipients of  a divine charitable hand-out. And that cannot possibly create a happy contented, free willed thinking human being. It just won't work. It's not our nature.

The truth in any form or situation isn't hidden from us, but you must seek it out, like an explorer.  You must earn it by desiring to take the challenge. A process of self discovery.

THE TRUTH BEHIND DARKNESS

Being the very cause, creators and discoverers of truth, and seeking, the peace and the unending pleasure that we all desire is far better than just being a charitable recipient of a handout.

This is the greatest gift that was given to humankind; having the ability to create the very existence that we are destined to receive.

Think about it. Is there a better joy when we build a business from scratch and make a fortune? Is there anything more delightful and meaningful for a scientist than to discover something like the laws of physics instead of it being downloaded into our brain at birth? Is there anything more rewarding and thrilling than writing a best-selling novel that blows the minds of readers around the world? Or being the inventor of the computer, the wheel and the light bulb?

Succeeding by our own effort is the sweetest gift of all. And so it is with the truth of life because that truth, or a comprehensive understanding of human nature has the power to lead to the understanding of existence. Therefore it is the most difficult truth to find.

TWO WAYS TO UNITY

There is a lot of spectacular unity unfolding now in France, just as unity swept the United States for a few weeks after 9/11.

But then it left.

There were articles written just a few weeks later about the firefighters of New York were arguing and fighting with the police on a street corner in Manhattan. When 9/11 struck, there were no more Democrats or Republicans. Everyone was an American. Just like today, everyone is Charlie and everyone is a citizen of France.

A few short weeks after 9/11, self-interest returned to America and partisan politics returned, dividing this nation like never before in history.

There are two ways to taste the sweetness of unity:

1. Unspeakable horror shakes us to our bone and suddenly we feel a kinship with our fellow-man and unite. But it soon wears off.

2. Proactively eradicate the human ego, which is painful and scary, make no mistake, but then the result is the sweet taste of unity that we all experience during those precious moments after a disaster.

Why take the road of suffering to unity when we can get there proactively, without pain?

When we truly uproot the human ego, think beyond solely dedicating ourselves to making our happiness manifest, then we can help manifest other people's dreams come true. You know what happens then? This shift in human consciousness raises our consciousness and suddenly new inventions and innovations that can rid the world of famine, pollution, poverty, will be revealed into the physical world.

We accelerate progress exponentially. Instead of going from horse and buggy to train to car to airplane to 747 and then to rockets, we can skip all those stages and get to the perfected technology that will transform the world in every conceivable way possible.

So how do we arrive to this point? We get there through continuous suffering or we can get their through inner change.

So far, all the technological advances of humanity have come as a result of pain  and suffering and war and death. What a stupid way to evolve.

If we just wage war on our own ego instead of our fellow-man, we can get to paradise and immortal existence in a virtual heartbeat.

But, the hard and harsh truth is this...A man would rather die physically, than have his ego die spiritually. It's the toughest war on earth to wage. But the victory offers the ultimate: a world of peaceful coexistence.

It's a war of life (positive change) and death (of ego).

If you want to contribute to the end of terrorism, war, poverty and disease, start fighting your own ego and treat the very people in your life -- friends, enemies, family, business associates -- with little less ego. Your impact on the world will be immeasurable.

The whole purpose of our existence is to infuse our consciousness with light, which allows us to win the day-to-day battles so that our personal lives and this world begin to undergo change.

Make no mistake, crime is down in the United States. New York, for instance has experienced a drastic drop in robberies and violent crimes that politicians are calling "extraordinary." According to the FBI, crime is down all over the US, not just one year, but its declining every single year.

The same thing is happening in the UK. According to the Guardian:

    Crime is falling. Murder is down. Violent crime generally is down. Property crime is down. In fact, almost every category of criminality that you can think of is declining. Here is the even better news. This is not a blip. The downward trend is now very well established and can be traced back over many years. And here is the funniest bit of this news. No one is really sure why. Those who think of themselves as experts on the causes of crime confess to being nonplussed. The majority of them predicted that a prolonged economic squeeze could only lead to more crime. They are scratching their heads trying to figure out why the opposite is happening.

There is so much good news happening all around the world but the negative media only reports the bad news because the ego rules over our soul so the negative news rules over the good news.

UNMASKING  EVIL

Many of the most obscene and unspeakable acts of darkness, including molestation and human trafficking, are being brought to our attention as never before in history. But make no mistake, this is not a new phenomenon, it's just that these abominable activities have been kept in the darkness for millennia. It's now being brought to light and to our attention though the vehicle of mass media in marvelous, technological ways that haven't existed before. We have the opportunity to manifest real creative change.

The same way sunlight shining through the blinds reveals previously unseen dust particles floating in the shaft of sunlight, spiritual light or divine consciousness and awakened human consciousness can shine a harsh light on the negativity that manifests in our world.

We help all those social causes by changing ourselves. That is the front line of war.

Changing within.

Being the change you want to see in the world.

Of course, the negativity that we humans manifest in this world will keep the headlines filled with terrifying and frightening news, concealing all the good news that also happening in the world. And it will make us feel helpless as we discover more of the monstrosities that are taking place in the world. All of this is to numb us into inaction.

But now we know better.

Each of us becomes a candle in the world when we diminish our ego and self-interest  and then more darkness is removed. And at the same time, we pour a light onto the problems that have remained hidden in the dark for centuries so that we can direct our consciousness to heal those issues as well.

Fighting darkness with darkness only creates more darkness.

Fighting darkness with light creates less darkness and more light.

The choice is ours.

It always has been.

PHNOM PENH - Three foreign nationals, two men and a woman, immediately deported from Cambodia after being arrested by the police for riding a motorcycle without wearing clothes.

Crawford Brown (24), a student of the University of West Scotland, have languished in custody over the weekend after with two friends, Catarina Aarnio (22) from Finland and Giancarlo Allocca (30) of Italy, riding a motorcycle on the street naked.

"We saw them riding a motorcycle naked in front of the police station. I then ordered the officers to follow and stop them," said Chuon Chomkol, a police officer, told the Cambodia Daily newspaper.

"They were riding a motorcycle while naked. What they are very disrespectful so we hold them. I can not let strangers do like it, even if they do not understand our traditions," added Chomkol.

Chomkol added three foreigners was not immediately stop their bikes when chased by the police because they were considered not done anything wrong. "I'm sure they tried to cross the border into Vietnam," continued Chomkol.

The incident occurred in the district of Leuk Daek which is about 80 kilometers from the capital city of Phnom Penh. According to another police officer, this incident was the first time this has happened in Cambodia.

"What they tarnish the integrity of Cambodia, Cambodia destroy the culture and customs, as well as unlawful Cambodia. We can not let them perform indecent acts like that in this country," said Eav Chamroeun told the newspaper, the Phnom Penh Post.

"The Immigration Department has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to deport them as a form of punishment," said Sok Phal, Head of Immigration Ministry of the Interior of Cambodia.

According to local media, the three foreigners will be forever barred to Cambodia because it violates the criminal laws of the country.

Wishing “Merry Christmas” and Celebrating Religious Tolerance in Indonesia

Jakarta - Can Muslims wish someone ‘Merry Christmas’? This is a question that always comes up in Indonesia around Christmas times and gathers mixed opinions.

Ask President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo this question. He will definitely say: “Yes. They can.”

The President is fully aware that many Muslims individuals and organizations in Indonesia, including the powerful Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), still disagree that it is acceptable for Muslims saying Christmas greetings or attending Christmas gatherings.

Jokowi is swimming against the mainstream. Last year, as governor of Jakarta, he went around the city to make sure that security was adequately provided for churches where Christians gathered to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Jokowi dropped in at several Catholic and Protestant churches. He entered churches, including the renowned Catholic Church cathedral and the Immanuel church and then, standing in front of the congregations and said, “Selamat natal bagi jemaat semua”, or “Merry Christmas to all of you”. The churchgoers responded with loud shouts of joy.

Also on the Christmas eve, Jokowi called then vice-governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama to wish him ‘Merry Christmas’.

Jokowi is scheduled to attend the government-sponsored national Christmas gathering in Jayapura, the capital of Papua, the country’s easternmost province, later this month (27 Dec.). He will deliver a Christmas speech during his visit.

Over the past 30 years, the national Christmas celebration has been an annual event that was held in Jakarta at the prestigious Jakarta Convention Center. Well-prepared Christmas songs, orchestras and dramas, which also featured renowned Muslim artists, were performed and were enthusiastically enjoyed by Muslim guests.

So far, no complaint has been aired openly about the national Christmas celebration and other Christmas gatherings at government offices and private organizations across the country.
The restrictions for Muslims during Christmas in Indonesia

In 1981, for the first time, MUI issued an official, strong fatwa (opinion) to keep Indonesian Muslims from wishing ‘Merry Christmas’ and attending Christmas gatherings, including visiting Christian families and friends on Christmas Day.

Again, in December 2012, MUI issued another fatwa that said “Muslims become sinners when they attend Christmas gatherings” and “it is also haram (forbidden) for Muslims to say Christmas greetings”.

The fatwa also said that by attending Christmas gatherings and wishing “Merry Christmas”, Muslims acknowledge that Christian God (and Jesus Christ) is their god.

How far MUI’s fatwas have been effective within the Muslim community remains unclear. Many Muslim workers, for example, still spontaneously shake hands with their Christian co-workers during Christmas while saying “Merry Christmas”.

When asked by the media, some leaders of Muslim organizations and scholars say that wishing “Merry Christmas” should no longer be an issue for Muslims in Indonesia. Muslims, they say, can attend Christmas meetings as long as they are just a social gathering, and not a prayer meeting.
Saying no to Christmas liturgy

Last week, Slamet Effendi, chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the country’s largest Muslim mass organization, said Muslims sending Christmas greetings shows religious tolerance, which is a very important value for Indonesia.

“It has nothing to do with a Muslim’s confession of faith,” Slamet told Tempo magazine.

Slamet said that Islamic teachings disallow Muslims to attend Christian liturgical gatherings. He did not say, however, if the national Christmas celebration held so far is a prayer meeting.

Meanwhile, noted Exeget Professor Muhammad Quraish Shihab holds a more tolerant stance.

Shihab said: “As a Muslim, going to your friend’s home to wish him “Merry Christmas” is part of a greeting and (maintaining) a good relationship. Similarly, it is impossible for us, Muslims, to tell our Christian friends not to come to our homes on Idul Fitri Holiday”.

Shihab, who is the former Minister of Religious Affairs under the leadership of president Abdurrahman Wahid, further said, as transcribed from a TV program by Tribunews.com, “as a Muslim, there is nothing wrong with you when you say Christmas greetings while in your heart you say that Prophet Isa is not the son of God.”

Shihab attended university education in Cairo where he witnessed Al Azhar ulemas going to the homes of Christian leaders to wish them “Merry Christmas”. Even, a great ulema in Suriah issued a fatwa that allows such visits, he added.

Meanwhile, Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim said last week that Muslims can even wear Santa Claus hats when attending Christmas gatherings at their workplaces. However, they should not be obliged if they are not comfortable with wearing them.

As the world’s only all-female sextuplets, they share the closest possible bond and have faced all of life’s little hurdles together.

For many years the Walton sisters – first-born Hannah, who was followed by Luci, Ruth, Sarah, Kate and Jennie – celebrated their similarities and would pose together for photos in the same school uniforms.

But now, after spending much of the past decade out of the limelight to live more privately, the 27-year-olds are all keen to stress their individuality.

Two of the sisters, who were born within four minutes of each other on November 18, 1983, are now brunettes. And while the other four still have their blonde locks, there are three different shades between them.

The siblings have also struck out in different directions for their careers, with some working abroad and others taking jobs in the UK.

Yet four still live in the eight-bedroom family home in Wallasey, Wirral, with parents Graham and Janet, a fifth will be returning this summer and the sixth lives just down the road.

Meet the family: The sextuplets as newborns cradled by their parents Graham and Janet. They were born on November 18th, 1983.

Mrs Walton, 58, said: ‘Jennie was a bit of a leader because she climbed out of her cot first, Luci was shy as a toddler but has made up for that now, Sarah was the quietest, although not now, Ruth is quite bossy, Kate is academic and Hannah is very articulate and organised.

‘But they’ve always been close and they talk to each other all the time. And we still have meeting around the kitchen table, which we had for any big decision, such as parties, birthdays or school.’

Hannah, who was the lightest baby at 2lb 1oz, is studying for her PGCE teaching qualification to work in a primary school. She is currently single and enjoys shopping, reading and meeting friends in her spare time.

We’re all quite different. I like to go to the pub, watch the footie and play a bit of poker. I’m a bit of a boy really.’

Sarah is an administration worker at the Central Park Medical Centre in Liverpool and is saving up to buy a home with her boyfriend of four years.

The keep-fit fan, who weighed 2lb 5oz at birth, said:  ‘I’m naturally a very clean person so it is hard being in this house. I like everything in its right place.'

Admin assistant Kate, who works in the human resources department at Liverpool John Moore’s University, is also at home saving money to buy her own place.

She is single and her interests include fashion, bowling and cinema.

‘Jennie, Luci and Ruth have all got the same sense of humour and are quite loud. Then me, Sarah and Hannah are the quieter ones and more sensible,’ said Kate, who was born weighing 2lb 13oz.

Jennie, who was the heaviest baby at 3lb 8oz, works as a children’s entertainer in a Majorca hotel but comes home for the off season.

She and her boyfriend have been together almost four years.

‘We are completely different people, from our hair colour to the way we dress and what we do,’ said Jennie, who enjoys shopping and drinking with friends in her free time.

The odds of having sextuplets are extremely low, with one occurring in every 4.5 million pregnancies.

But many end in miscarriages and, even if the babies defy the odds, the mortality rate is high. In more than 90 per cent of sextuplet births, one or more will die before their first birthday.

 As a result, the Walton children attracted worldwide attention when they were born.

The girls were conceived using fertility treatment and their parents took a year off work to care for them full-time.

Mr Walton, 60, described living with seven women for much of his life as an ‘eye-opener’ but revealed he expected everything to change ‘dramatically, with weddings and babies likely to happen soon’.

However, he added: ‘If they all moved out tomorrow it would be dreadful. I love the noise and the shouting and have loved every minute of them growing up.’

New South Wales Deputy Police Commissioner Catherine Burn declined to comment on any individual's actions, saying what transpired in the cafe remained under investigation.

"This will all come out in time, no doubt," Burn said. "Can I just say, I think every single one of those hostages, every single one of those victims, acted courageously."

Dawson was the mother of three young children, Chloe, Sasha and Oliver, and a highly respected commercial lawyer. She was remembered as "one of our best and brightest" by New South Wales Bar Association president Jane Needham.

Andrew Powell, head of the Ascham School, which Dawson attended in her youth, said she was a well-respected and giving woman who excelled at her studies. Dawson's daughter Chloe is a student at the school and Sasha will be attending next year.

Dawson was the school's debating captain and played hockey and basketball. After she became a lawyer, she helped teach senior students at her former school how to prepare for mock trials.

Johnson was remembered as a selfless man who put others first.

"By nature he was a perfectionist and he had a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and people," Lindt Australia CEO Steve Loane said in a statement. "His loss is absolutely tragic."

Johnson's parents issued a brief statement, thanking the public for its support.

"We are so proud of our beautiful boy Tori, gone from this earth but forever in our memories as the most amazing life partner, son and brother we could ever wish for," they said.
