A SOUTH Australian dog has claimed the Guinness World Record for the loudest bark.
Belinda Freebairn says her dog Charlie had a monster bark even as a puppy.
Charlie, a six-year-old golden retriever from Adelaide, clocked 113.1 decibels to displace Daz, a German shepherd from London who registered a bark of 108 decibels in 2009.
Belinda Freebairn told ABC her dog had a monster bark even as a puppy. Given that it is now as loud as a live rock show, Freebairn and her neighbours must be relieved he doesn't use it that often.
"He doesn't bark at home at all really," she said. "He's really quiet."
